Open to all members of the public, the programme offers a relaxed, sociable atmosphere with tea, coffee and cake being served.

Please let us know if you would like help with transport.

People living with dementia and family members often feel isolated as they may find it difficult to cope in unfamiliar social groupings and settings.  This special programme is designed with an interval to create a small, comfortable, welcoming venue. There is ready access to toilets or a quiet area during the screening of the film and people are free to move around during the performance.

Family members or carers will be expected to accompany those with dementia. Volunteers from the Alzheimer’s Society and Darley Dale Film Society will act in a supportive role.

  1. Hello

You may recall, I brought my Mum (Val Slack) to Swadlincote (Singing in the Rain) in October and I’d hoped to bring her to Dronfield for The Greatest Showman. Unfortunately, Mum’s Care Home was on lockdown during that week so I couldn’t bring her.

When we met, I also asked if I could move my 20th December booking, Shirebrook (it’s a Wonderful Life) to Swadlincote on 13th December. I am really sorry to mess you about but could I go back to the original plan (Shirebrook on 20th)? My Christmas meal from work is in the afternoon of 13th. Please could you confirm this revert-back is OK.

If Mum is well enough , we still plan to see White Christmas on 6th December at Matlock and Miracle on 34th Street at the Winding Wheel on 10th December. These bookings are unchanged – thank you.

I look forward to seeing you again.
